DOG FOOD Crano's latest short film was shot on location in New York City. The film stars Cory Michael Smith, Amanda Seyfried and David Craig. The film was produced by Michael Klein, Max Hurwitz, David Craig and Crano.  DOG FOOD premiered at SXSW, March 2014.  Subsequently the film played at thirty international film festivals, won best horror/thriller at Comic Con and was chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick.  A BAG OF HAMMERS Crano's first feature film premiered at the 2011 South By South West Film Festival.  The film was released by MPI in the spring of 2012 and now can be seen on Netflix and Showtime.  Crano wrote BAG with co-writer Jake Sandvig.  The film stars Jason Ritter, Rebecca Hall, Chandler Canterbury, Carrie Preston, Todd Louiso, Gabriel Macht and Jake Sandvig.  BAG is being produced by Peter Friedlander, Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Jen Barrons.  RUBBERHEART Crano’s debut short film was an official selection at Palm Springs International Festival Of Short Films, then played another twenty four international festivals including: Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, New York City Short Film Festival (Audience Choice Award), Rio De Janeiro International Short Film Festival, Oslo International Film Festivals, London Short Film Festival, Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival, Swansea Film Festival (nominated Best International Short),  Latitude Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival and Venice International Short Film Festival.  OFFICIAL SELECTION Crano’s follow up short, stars Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper; and premiered at Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in August 2008.  SIMPLY PLIMPTON is also Crano's brainchild. He writes and directs the cult web series, a fictionalized look at the life of regarded actress Martha Plimpton.  12th PREMISE Prior to making films, Crano was a playwright and actor.  His play 12th PREMISE played around the world at the Edinburgh Festival, workshopped on London’s West End and in New York, and ran in Los Angeles.  EDUCATION Crano earned his B.A. in Theatre in acting and playwrighting at UCLA and his post graduate degree in classical acting and text at the London Academy of Dramatic Art.  He was part of the Royal Court's Young Writer's Program.  REPRESENTATION Crano is represented by Brad Petrigala at Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

SMITH can be see weekly on Fox's GOTHAM as iconic villian Edward Nigma.  Most recently filmed roles in two projects: the HBO mini-series OLIVE KITTERIDGE opposite Frances McDormand and CAMP X-RAY opposite Kristen Stewart. He made his Broadway debut with Truman Capote's BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S. Also during the 2012-2013 theater season, he starred Off-Broadway in both the U.S. premiere of COCK by Mike Bartlett at The Duke and the NY Premiere of THE WHALE by Samuel D. Hunter at Playwrights Horizons (having originated the role at the Denver Center Theatre Company). Prior to that, he was seen in the NY premiere of THE SHAGGS: PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD, produced by Playwrights Horizons and New York Theatre Workshop. Regional credits include: world premiere of A. Rey Pamatmat's EDITH CAN SHOOT THINGS AND HIT THEM (Humana Festival, Actors Theater of Louisville), and THE FANTASTICKS (Repertory Theatre of St. Louis; Barrington Stage Company). He is a graduate of Otterbein University.

Amanda Seyfried has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most captivating young leading actresses.  Seyfried is best known for her starring role in the Universal Pictures hit film MAMMA MIA! Seyfried is currently starring in Millennium/Radius Films’ LOVELACE, a drama directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.  Seyfried will next be seen starring in Universal Pictures’ A MILLION WAYS TO DIE written and directed by Seth MacFarlane. She stars in this American comedy western alongside MacFarlane and Charlize Theron.  Seyfried will next begin production on Noah Baumbach’s WHILE WE’RE YOUNG. This independent film also stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts. In 2013, Seyfried appeared in Lionsgate’s THE BIG WEDDING opposite Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton.  Seyfried also lent her voice to 20th Century Fox’s animated film EPIC. In 2012, Seyfried starred in Universal’s Oscar nominated film adaptation of LES MISERABLES in which she plays Cosette. She starred opposite Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.  Also Seyfried appeared in Brian Crano’s A BAG OF HAMMERS, released by MPI.  In 2011, Seyfried starred opposite Justin Timberlake in New Regency’s sci-fi action thriller, IN TIME from writer-director Andrew Niccol.  Other films include:  RED RIDING HOOD, DEAR JOHN, LETTERS TO JULIET, CHLOE,  JENNIFER’S BODY, NINE LIVES, ALPHA DOG, and of course MEAN GIRLS.

DAVID JOSEPH CRAIG michael | exec producer
David Joseph Craig is a comedic writer, actor and producer. Currently Craig can be seen performing with NEVER NEVER, a house team at the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Craig has graced the stages of many improv and sketch theaters throughout New York and Los Angeles including UCB, Groundlings, IO West, Second City, People’s Improv Theater, and Magnet. Craig’s on-screen work includes films - DOG FOOD, THREE PUFFS OF GOLD and KID ANN.   Craig’s television work includes - GOOD MORNING RABBIT (pilot), ENTOURAGE, LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. He is also an accomplished commercial actor.  On the web Craig has created WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU TELL SOMEONE YOU ARE GAY and SIMPLY PLIMPTON Craig’s cult hit web series, follows the fictitious, yet extremely hilarious life of 80’s television and film icon -- Martha Plimpton. Craig stars, writes, and produces the series with 15 current episodes and over 70,000 views. Craig also wrote and produced the web series COMMERCIAL ACTORS.  Craig attended Marymount Manhattan College, where he earned a B.A. in Theatre.

Michael Klein is currently producing a feature length documentary called ROMEO IS BLEEDING set in Richmond, California directed by Jason Zeldes.  He is currently in post-production on THE DEAL, a short film directed by Daniel Kaminsky, co-producer of Joss Whedon’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.  Michael began his film career working as a production assistant on such films as TRANSFORMERS and LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD while still in school at USC. After graduating, Michael has been working in both film and television. He has produced music videos for notable artists such as The Stone Temple Pilots and Ice Water.   Michael produces and directs commercials for clients such as AT&T and American Express.   He has also worked in docu-reality television on the ABC series JAMIE OLIVER'S FOOD REVOLUTION  and most recently as a production coordinator for BBC America on the series RICHARD HAMMOND'S CRASH COURSE.

MAX HURWITZ exec producer
Hurwitz grew up perpetually wet in Seattle, WA and moved to Los Angeles to attend film school at USC. His first screenplay, CROWN, earned a spot on the 2013 Black List and is currently being produced by Start Motion Pictures. He also served as an associate producer on independent feature A BAG OF HAMMERS, starring Jason Ritter and Rebecca Hall, and will write an upcoming episode of the AMC western HELL ON WHEELS.
